300 flights in one day, 1600 tourists entered Lukla

300 air flights took place in one day at Lukla airport near Mount Everest area. After the start of the autumn tourist season, a high number of flights took place on Monday.

According to Lukla Airport, around 300 flights were flown for 12 hours continuously from 6 am to 6 pm on Monday. Tenzing Hillary Airport Lukla had the highest number of flights in this year's autumn season on Monday.

Sita, Tara and Summit Air flew from Kathmandu and Manthali as the weather improved from today.  As the airport remained busy throughout the day, both the airplanes and helicopters flying to Lukla flew at full capacity.

1,600 tourists entered Khumbu on Monday only by air. Among them, 1,350 tourists have arrived in Lukla by airplane and 250 by helicopter. About 1600 tourists came down to Lukla on the first day of the autumn season, but as soon as the weather opened, the same number of tourists left there.
