As the skies of Kathmandu have opened since morning, the traffic has increased at the Tribhuvan International Airport. Domestic flights have also started to operate.

On Sunday at 7:31 AM, the first flight was operated by Yeti Airlines for Bhadrapur. A manager of the domestic terminal informed that after the flight, flight operations have also started in most of the accessible airports outside Kathmandu.

Currently the visibility of the airport area is 8 km, which is considered very favorable for flights under Visual Flight Rules (VFR). It has not rained since morning in and around Kathmandu.

Between 4 pm and 7 pm on Saturday, 7 international flights were diverted to Bangladesh and India due to bad weather. All of these flights have returned to Kathmandu late at night. 

But the widebody plane of Nepal Airlines that came from Japan was diverted to New Delhi. The plane landed in Kathmandu at 10:10 this morning. There is a landing schedule.

According to airport officials, the flight operations that started at 6:00 am on Saturday continued till 5:24 am on Sunday, nearly 24 hours.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority, 145 domestic flights were scheduled for Saturday, but only 7 were completed. 138 flights were canceled citing adverse weather conditions. 7 of those flights were stopped at Bhadrapur, Biratnagar, Bhairahawa and Pokhara.

A total of 140 domestic flights have been scheduled for Sunday. Among them, 72 flights of Buddha Air are the most. Then there are 32 flights of Yeti Airlines, 26 flights of Shree Airlines, and 9 flights of Tara Air. Sita Air, Summit Air, and Nepal Airlines are scheduled to operate 1/1 flight each.

Among them, 3 mountain flights are scheduled. Jasma has 2 Buddha Air and 1 Yeti Airlines . 

According to the domestic terminal, the planes stopped at Pokhara, Biratnagar, Bharatpur, Bhairahawa, Janakpur, Dhangadhi and Nepalganj on Saturday are returning to Kathmandu respectively today.
