The number of people killed in landslides in Ilam with the incessant rain since Saturday night has reached 37.  Ilam Chief District Officer Sunita Nepal informed that 37 people died till 1 pm on Sunday.

According to him, 5 people in Suryodaya Municipality 1 Manebhanjyang, 6 people in Ilam Municipality 6 Ghos, Mangsevung Rural Municipality 1  3 people died in Deumai Municipality 5, 8 people died in Mai Jogmai Rural Municipality, 6 people died in Sandakpur Rural Municipality and 1 person died in Phakphokthum Rural Municipality.

  Among those who lost their lives, 11 people have been autopsied . 17 people were injured in the landslide and 3 of them were rescued by the helicopter of the Nepalese army. According to the police, 4 people are missing in the landslide. A team of army, police and armed forces are working with locals to search for the missing persons.
