Due to increased risk of floods and landslides, the District Administration Office, Ilam has banned the operation of vehicles.
Chief District Officer Sunita Nepal has issued a notification saying that the operation of vehicles except for essential vehicles has been banned from 6 am on Sunday to 7 am on Monday.
According to the notification of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, the Ilam district is still at high risk until further notification is issued to minimize the damage caused by a possible disaster situation.
More than 20 people have been killed and more than 12 people are missing in different places due to the landslides that took place in Ilam.
