Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Physical Infrastructure and Transport and Urban Development Minister Kulman Ghisingh has asked people to travel cautiously as there is a possibility of heavy and very heavy rain from Saturday evening to Sunday noon.

Mentioning that the Department of Water and Meteorology has forecast heavy rain in various parts of the country including Kathmandu Valley from 7/8 pm on Saturday to 12/1 noon on Sunday, Minister Ghising requested everyone to travel cautiously.

On Saturday, Minister Ghising took information from the Secretary of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, the Director General of the Department of Roads, Water Resources and Irrigation Department, and the Director General of the Department of Water and Meteorology regarding floods, landslides, inundation and the possible risks that may arise from them. 

Kamal Ram Joshi, Director General of Water and Meteorology Department, said that the system that entered Nepal from the Bay of Bengal through Odisha, Jharkhand, India is currently raining and the system will exit from the east from Monday.

Joshi mentioned that since this year's system is the same as last year's, we should be prepared for the disaster that may come from it. He said that high alert should be adopted till Monday morning.

Director General of Road Department Vijay Jaisi and Water Resources and  Director General of Irrigation Department, Mitra Baral informed that necessary preparations have been made to reduce the possible risks that may come from floods, landslides and floods.
