A child injured in a bus accident in Mahottari's Khairmara has died during treatment.

12-year-old Pravin Khadka of Ishwarpur, Sarlahi, who was injured in the accident, died during treatment at Shubswaswa Hospital. Khadka was riding in the bus.

When the bus No. 6 B 1464 going to Kathmandu from Gharibathan via Khairmara met with an accident, Chulhai Choudhary, a pedestrian, died on the spot and more than 20 passengers on the bus were injured. They were rescued and are being treated in different hospitals.

The condition of some of them is serious, police said. According to Police Inspector Lakshmiraj Joshi of District Traffic Police Office Mahotari Bardibas, the bus went out of control while trying to save pedestrians in front of Khayermara School and the accident happened.

Eyewitness Vinay Yadav said that while trying to save the local Chulhai Chaudhary, who was out on the road after drinking tea, the bus went out of control and hit a nearby coconut tree.
