The UML has objected to the Ministry of Home Affairs instructing the Nepal Police not to take action against those involved in the arson and vandalism incidents that took place during the demonstration on August 24, saying that it falls within the jurisdiction of the Inquiry Commission.

This instruction of the Home has accused the UML of trying to give immunity to the culprits involved in the demolition . The meeting held on Sunday of the Central Secretariat has also demanded to allow the Nepal Police to conduct an uninterrupted investigation.

"The party has drawn serious attention to the instruction given by the Ministry of Home Affairs to the Nepal Police not to take any action against the culprits involved in the destructive incident of August 24." The party seriously objects to this and draws the attention of the Nepal Police to ensure a smooth working environment.

'Our serious attention has been drawn to the news that the Commission of Inquiry regarding the incidents of Bhadra 23 and 24, 2082 has recommended the suspension of the passports of party president KP Sharma Oli and others on October 12, 2082.' Such vindictive decisions have also raised serious questions about the credibility of the commission.

UML accused the government of going on the path of banning political parties and suspected that the election would be held at the appointed time.

We have seen signs that the government is trying to take political revenge. We have seen some activities that are prohibited by the political parties that have made history," said Deputy Secretary General Gyawali, "even though it has been two weeks since the formation of the government, there has been no dialogue or contact with the main political parties. Is there really an election situation? The serious question is that there should be a fair and fearless environment for elections. It seems that gradually the government is trying to move away from the path of prohibition.'

He objected that some people are openly saying to cause material damage by targeting political parties. "While giving an interview, it has been said that we will not allow the old parties to participate in the elections." This indicates the elections to be held after five months, he added.

UML has decided to convene a central committee meeting from October 27 to 29 to decide on the latest political developments.
