Kedarnath Sharma, the then manager of Shivshikhar Multi-Purpose Co-operative Society, who escaped from Nakhkhu Jail on 24 August, has been arrested. DSP Dharmaraj Bhandari of the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police informed that Sharma was arrested from Sanepa in Lalitpur on Wednesday.

DSP Bhandari informed that the arrested Sharma was handed over to the Nakhkhu prison administration on Wednesday. Sharma was in jail on charges of co-operative fraud. After the
demonstration, Sharma also escaped along with other prisoners after breaking the jail. On August 24, 14,043 prisoners and detainees escaped from 28 prisons and police custody cells, including Nakhkhu and Central, and about 8,000 people have been arrested.
