The Maoists will hold a special convention in the last week of November to elect a new leader. The central office meeting held on Sunday decided to convert the central committee into an organizing committee to hold a special convention.

Party president Pushpa Kamal Dahal will be the coordinator of the special convention organizing committee. The Central Committee meeting on October 9 will decide the date of the convention.

Maoist Deputy General Secretary Varshman Pun informed that it has been decided to take the proposal to the Standing and Central Committee to hold a special convention in the last week of November. "This convention will bring leadership to the young generation," he said. Dahal has proposed to hold a special convention to transfer leadership after the pressure to transfer leadership to the youth after the performance of Jen-G.

At the beginning of the meeting, Chairman Dahal proposed to hold a special convention according to the changing political situation. He said that he was ready to reorganize the Maoists by entrusting them to the younger generation. "I am ready to leave the Maoists in charge of the younger generation and stay as a parent. Now the special convention will select the leadership through open competition', quoting his statement, an official said, 'Now the party will be reorganized accordingly.'

Even though the 8th Congress of Maoist was held in January 2078, it was not able to hand over the leadership. Although there was a demand to elect a directly elected central committee and leadership, direct elections were not held due to Dahal's disinterest.

Leaders including Deputy General Secretary Janardan Sharma and Secretary Ram Karki in Maoist came before the issue of leadership transfer. Karki and Sharma had been giving written and oral opinions to the standing committee saying that the leadership should be transferred in July 2081.

In Sunday's meeting, Sharma proposed that all office bearers, including Chairman Dahal, should resign and senior leaders should be entrusted with conducting the convention. "In order to ensure the representation and leadership of the youth in the convention, all office bearers including the president should proceed with arrangements in the interim constitution of the directorate committee so that they can do political and ideological work," Sharma said.

Maoist youth leader Madhav Sapkota said that it is a matter of happiness for the young generation that the party has decided to hold a special convention to elect a new leadership. "The party will be strengthened by the combination of experienced and young generation," he said.

Maoists have also decided to go to the elections announced on February 21, abandoning the demand for the restoration of the parliament. Deputy Secretary General Pun said, "Since there is still a threat of spoiling the election, we will create an environment for the election. We will also advance the anti-nepotism and anti-corruption issues." Some leaders have demanded that KP Sharma Oli, who resigned as Prime Minister due to Gen-G rebellion, should also leave the post of UML president. However, the UML meeting could not be held after the demonstration of Jen-G.

After the demonstration, Oli, who was in the army barracks for ten days, moved to Gundu in Bhaktapur. UML celebrated Constitution Day on Friday. The leaders informed that there is a discussion about holding a meeting of the Central Secretariat. In the meeting, after analyzing the overall situation, there will be a discussion on party policy, leadership reorganization, etc.

Vice-President Surendra Pandey said that the government led by UML was displaced due to the movement of Gen-G and it is necessary to discuss the weakness in this situation. Why was the government unaware of such a big incident? Why no signal? Who was the weakness? First of the overall event  There will be a review of

', he said, 'When and how to hold the convention will have to be decided after that. Now it is clear that the party will not run according to the old pattern. Now we have to go in a new way. The organization also needs restructuring. There is a need for reorganization in many ideological matters.

Secretaries Yogesh Bhattarai and Gokarn Bista are also open to reorganizing the organization and leadership. Both of them are of the opinion that the party should be reorganized and move forward from a new direction. However, UML's legislative convention on August 20-22 passed a law to make it easy for President Oli to become president again. The convention removed the age limit of 70 years for Oli and the provision of two terms for one person.

Former President Bidya Bhandari had moved forward as Oli's competitor in UML. In UML, Vice Presidents Yuvraj Gyawali, Surendra Pandey, Ashtalakshmi Shakya, Standing Committee Member Binda Pandey, Central Members Ushakiran Timsena, Arbind Singh have been demanding the transfer of leadership by maintaining the age limit.

The second and third generation are preparing to make the issue of leadership transfer a priority in the upcoming convention of UML. Time has demanded youth leadership. The demand of the new generation can be met only by the new leadership," Central member Padam Giri said, "The main issue of the next convention will be youth leadership."
