The Election Commission has said that it has started the necessary preparations for the completion of the House of Representatives election to be held on February 21. In a meeting with Home Minister Omprakash Aryal on Thursday, the officials of the commission said that the preparations for the election have started.

According to the commission, the process of creating procedures, guidelines, standards and planning for election materials, budget and manpower management has started. Similarly, the commission demands that the government, in consultation with the commission, set a date for the election of the 19 National Assembly seats that will be vacant from February 20th to be completed within 35 days before the vacancy according to the law. 

Similarly, the Commission has canceled the by-election scheduled to be held on November 17th of Rupandehi District Representative Assembly member constituency number 3. According to the commission, the by-election scheduled to be held on November 17 of Manang District Assembly Constituency No. 2 remains unchanged.
