1100 weapons of Nepal Police were looted in the movement led by 'Zen-G' and the subsequent violence.
On August 23, after the suppression by the government in the movement of Zen-ji, the next day, on August 24, vandalism and arson broke out all over the country, including Kathmandu. During that time, 1,100 weapons of various calibers were looted by vandalizing and setting fire to the police barracks and offices, according to the police head office.
After the protest, the demonstration turned violent and 455 barracks/offices were vandalized, set on fire and looted across the country, including the Kathmandu Valley Police Office. According to SSP Ramesh Thapa of Police Head Office, 1 thousand 100 weapons were looted, big/small, while 197 offices were completely damaged and 258 offices were partially damaged.
During the protest, 3 policemen lost their lives in the line of duty, while 1,963 policemen were injured. Among the injured, 1,939 people have been discharged from the hospital after police treatment, while 24 people are undergoing police treatment. 73 people died during the Zen-G movement.
Hundreds of civilians have been injured. In the violence that erupted after the movement, the parliament building, the Supreme Court, the President's house, the Prime Minister's residence, government/public, private buildings/establishments and offices including the Prime Minister's office have been destroyed . Even though it is estimated that there was a loss of billions of rupees in the demolition, the exact details of the damage have not been collected.
