20 MPs of the National Independent Party have announced their collective resignation. RSVP has announced to resign from the Parliament while putting forward the proposal to form an interim government.
DP Aryal, Acting Chairman of RSWP, put forward a five-point demand, and the MPs of RSWP decided to resign collectively.
'The current federal parliament is unable to solve any national issue and has lost legitimacy, proposing the formation of an interim civil government as soon as possible for the future solution, paying heartfelt tributes to the Genji warriors who were killed by the government, being in favor of speedy and free treatment for all the injured, with full support for the demands and expectations of the country's main asset, Genji, and with the dedication to continue the movement, we, all the members of the National Independent Party, have agreed on the proposal of the secretariat to resign en masse. RSVP has demanded that Prime Minister Oli should resign immediately, a high-level judicial inquiry commission should be formed to investigate the incident impartially, an all-party civilian government should be formed, and the Prime Minister, Home Minister, Minister of Communications, as well as the chief district officer of Kathmandu district should be dismissed and strict action should be taken against all the culprits.
RSVP has also demanded to start the constitution amendment process.
