National Independent Party MP Asim Shah has announced his resignation from the post. Speaker Devraj Ghimire's secretariat said that MP Shah has not yet submitted his resignation.

MP Shah has written on social media that he has resigned from the post. "As a member of the Asim Shah House of Representatives, I hereby inform you that I have submitted my resignation from the post of Member of Parliament with immediate effect from today," he wrote.

RSVP proportional MP Shah has written that he has resigned from his post in support of the Genji demonstration. "The government's suppression of the Jenji movement, the inhumane actions like shooting at peaceful demonstrations and the vertical interference on civil rights are against my conscience and responsibility towards the people," he wrote, "I have repeatedly spoken the voice of the youth in the House, warned - there may be a street uprising, if the feelings of the youth are not understood." However, those who run the government never wanted to listen, never wanted to take it seriously.'

MP Shah has also written that the lives of young people are more important than the security of the parliament building.

Article 89 of the constitution provides that MPs can resign from their posts. It is written that the member of the House of Representatives must submit his resignation to the Speaker.
