The pressure to separate from the government has increased within the ruling party Nepali Congress. The leaders increased this pressure by meeting the party chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba.
Deuba called a meeting of the Central Performance Committee at his residence Budhanilkanth on Tuesday morning to discuss the steps taken by the government and the party. Chief Minister Gagan Kumar Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma, who attended the meeting, said that they should separate from the government. Although not all the leaders could attend the
meeting, those who were present gave such suggestions. Deuba is in a difficult situation as there is pressure within the party to separate from the government, but after he insisted on separating from the government, the ministers started resigning on their own.
Deuba has not agreed to leave the government even now, so a minister said that they have resigned. A leader informed that the meeting of the performance committee called by Deuba was postponed because the leader could not come.
Now Speaker Deuba will take the decision about the government. Chief Minister Thapa and Shekhar Koirala's party ministers have started to resign saying that they will not stay in the government.
Similarly, Joint Chief Minister Jeevan Pariyar said that the Nepali Congress should leave the government at this time of crisis. In order to solve the crisis, he also demanded that a powerful commission be formed to investigate the assets of political leaders, political appointees and national servants who have taken advantage of the nation after 2046 and bring those involved in corruption to justice.
