The fifth edition of the joint military exercise 'Sagarmatha Friendship', which is being conducted between the Nepali Army and the People's Liberation Army of China, has started in Kathmandu from Sunday.

According to the Nepali Army, the joint exercise, which will be conducted until August 31, will involve knowledge exchange on disaster management, United Nations peacekeeping missions, counter-terrorism, etc.

The exercise started in 2074 is being conducted alternately every year in Nepal and China. The army has been participating in bilateral and multilateral exercises and professional competitions with the armies of the allied countries for the purpose of increasing their capacity in various subjects.
