Rasuwagadhi crossing is currently closed after the bridge connecting the crossing was swept away by the flood in Lhende river on June 24. When will the border be operational? The concerned authorities are still unaware of this. Belibridge should be built on Lhende River before the crossing can be put into operation. Although China has started the construction of Beili Bridge, the work is not finished yet.

Due to the floods in Bhotekoshi on June 24 and July 14, the Syafrubensi-Rasuwagadhi road has not been fully operational yet. Khadgalal Shrestha, head of the Galchi-Trishuli-Mailung-Safrabensi-Rasuwagadhi road planning office, said that the road from Syafrubensi to Timure was put into operation a week ago.

"In the past, there was a problem with the road being dug by the river," he said, "Now this is not a problem, the section connecting Timure to Rasuwagadhi is also being put into operation soon." As the

is a hard rock, the project is trying to break it. Where work is currently underway. "There has been a problem due to the flooding of the road at Apple Parking and Park Checkpost. We will open a new track in that place within a week and bring the road into operation," Shrestha said. He said that due to the landslide in this section, a new track has been opened and the road is being operated.

Now that the road has been opened, vehicles are operating from Syafrubansi to Timure. Shrestha said, "There are occasional landslides on the road that has been in operation, so the traffic has been moved away from the mud," Shrestha said, "There is no major problem." He says that there is no problem like before because the erosion from the river is less.

Even though the road connecting Syafrubansi to Rasuwagadhi was put into operation before Dasain, it has been informed that the bridge connecting the checkpoint may be built, said Keshav Kumar Sharma, secretary of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport.

"Earlier there was talk of building a 50-meter bridge over the Lhende river, there was no discussion about placing a pillar in the middle," he said, "Now, because we have to build a 'Bellibridge' longer than 50 meters, we had to add a pillar in the middle, so we have received information from the Chinese side that there will be problems in building the bridge before Dasain."

'How many meters are to be built has not been decided yet, our estimate is that it may be 80 to 100 meters long,' he said, 'It will be difficult to bring the preparations from China as the belay bridge can be built in December.' "Since the bridge will not be built before Dasain, goods will not come through the crossing," he said, "Our estimate is that it will be completed by Tihar." More than 100 containers pass through this crossing every day. Now the Rasuwagadhi crossing is blocked.

Chief Customs Officer of Rasuwa Customs Office Tulsi Prasad Bhattarai also said that since it will take time to build a bridge over Lhende river, it is likely that the border crossing will be closed till Tihar. "During Dussain, clothes enter Nepal through Rasuwagadhi and Tatopani crossings," he said, "Apples are also consumed more during the festival, they also enter through this crossing, but now this crossing is closed." Although new vehicles used to enter Nepal through this crossing during the festival, it is now closed. Although most of the electric vehicles are imported through this port, now the import from this port is closed.

How many auto dealers bought cars with offers during the festival. And, it became impossible to pass through this border," said Bhattarai, "The importation of many things has been stopped due to the closure of the border." The customs office has set a revenue collection target of Rs 40.16 billion in the current financial year. "The target of revenue collection in July and August is 7 billion rupees," he said. According to Bhattarai, despite the regular opening of the border after Tihar of the current financial year, the revenue collection will be 12 billion less than the total target set for the year. "If the border had been opened ten years ago, such a large amount of revenue would not have been lost," he said.
