Congress MP Ramhari Khatiwada will be elected unopposed as the Chairman of the Parliamentary Hearing Committee (Joint) of the Federal Parliament.

Khatiwada is the only candidate for the chairmanship of the hearing committee, so he will be unopposed. Preparations are being made to announce Khatiwada as the unanimous chairman in the hearing committee's meeting at 5:15 pm on Friday. 

General Secretary of the Federal Parliament Padma Prasad Pandey has informed that only Khativada has been nominated for the Speaker. 

Khatiwada was previously the chairman of the state system and good governance committee of the House of Representatives. He resigned from the post after discussing the cooling off period provided in the Civil Service Bill.

Ishwari Neupane of Congress was the chairman of the hearing committee. She resigned and became the Chairman of the State Affairs Committee.
