50-year-old Sumitra Mallik of Sukhipur Municipality-10 Vishwakarma Chowk in Siraha has Neeldam in her life. She is being treated at a local clinic and is still unable to speak properly. When the Kantipur workers were talking, she said in a soft voice, 'What are we talking about, sir, we are not human beings.'

She said that more than the physical pain caused by Neeldam, Sumitra was melting inside because of the inhumane treatment and excesses she suffered from the society due to her caste. The reason for this pain of Sumitra is the brutal beating on her family on Wednesday morning saying she was untouchable because of caste.

His family, who were living on the river bank on the west side of the road at Vishwakarma Chowk, were beaten up by the neighbors. Son-in-law Sanjay Mallik along with Sumitra are injured due to the beating. Sumitra is more injured, while her son-in-law Sanjay, who was slightly injured, has returned home after receiving first aid at the same hospital on Wednesday.

According to her mother's 28-year-old daughter Rina Mallik, who lives in Kuruwa, when she was trying to clear the bushes in front of the house, the local Sahdev Mahato, Sukdev Mahato, Nagendra Mahato, Dukharan Mahato, Rina Mahato, Shyamsunder Mahato and others beat up her family for trying to seize the land. 

Sumitra's family has 15 members. Earlier they were living in Golbazar Municipality-13 Durgapur and after being mistreated on the basis of caste, they came and settled on the public land on the banks of Gagan river 15 years ago. According to Sumitra's husband Ganapati Mallik Dom, when they moved here, there were not many houses nearby.

With the development of the road and the market, the houses became denser. Ganapathi said that the neighbors who used to beat them came and lived here about 7-8 years ago and since then they started causing trouble.

According to him, those neighbors have been threatening and abusing him many times, saying that it will be bad luck if he stays untouched in front of his house and moved his house from here to live alone in Gagan River. Ganapati's house is on the west side of the road, while the house of the neighbors who do the beating is on the east side.

"Sometimes they look at the face of the dome in the morning and curse that the day is bad, sometimes they curse that the deity is bad, sometimes they insult them because they smell," Ganapati says, "They have been giving us this pain for seven to eight years, their only aim is to drive us away from here."

About four years ago, Ganapati's 18 pigs suddenly died. died . He suspects that someone poisoned the pig when no one was at home. ``We know in our hearts who gave the poison,'' he says, ``but, we cried inside because there would be a dispute .''Ganpati recounts that a year ago, the neighbors even stopped drinking water from the hand tap next to the house after they did not leave the place. "At that time, we drank water from the river for some time," he says, "since it caused health problems, we buried the call". "Sometime dirty toilet water has been thrown towards the house of the Dom family, sometimes they have been abused," he said. He claims that the road that has been standing for years is their private land and the road land is occupied by the Dom family, so there is a dispute. The victim's family filed a complaint with the district police on Wednesday. However, till now, the police has not made any inquiries with the accused party.
