In today's meeting of the House of Representatives, Nepali Congress MP and central member Uday Shamsher Rana has urged the government to extend the time limit as per the Land Use Act 2076 and Regulations 2079, the mandatory mapping at the local level could not be completed on time.
According to him, only 213 local levels across the country have completed the mapping work so far. Rana said that the work could not be completed within the specified period as the process was complicated especially in urban areas. 'When the time limit is short, the public has been forced to do mapping and planning anyway. This has not only increased the corruption related activities but also caused problems to the citizens but also hindered the revenue collection,' said Rana in the House.
He emphasized that the government should take necessary steps to arrange the system of mapping and quotas in an easy, transparent and effective manner.
