45 people from Gorkha have been infected with dengue and 104 people with scrub typhus. Health workers say that from July to the second week of August, the number of dengue and scrub typhus cases has increased in the district. Since July, 12 people have been diagnosed with dengue and 40 people have been infected with scrub typhus during tests at the Gorkha Provincial Hospital.
Narayan Aryal of the Provincial Health Office Gorkha informed that Dengue and Scrub Typhus infections were also found in other 5 municipalities of the district. 13 people of Bhimsen Thapa rural municipality have dengue and 30 people have scrub typhus. Similarly, 10 people from Arughat rural municipality have dengue and 10 people have scrub typhus. He said that 7 people in Palungtar municipality have dengue and 23 people have scrub typhus, 3 people in Shahid Lakhan have dengue and 1 person in Azirkot rural municipality has scrub typhus infection.
