The parliamentarians have demanded the government to clarify the Chinese claim that Nepal supports China's security strategy (Global Security Initiative-GSI).

The ruling Congress MP Dilendra Prasad Badu said that the government should make it clear that Nepal has agreed to the GSI proposal in the statement issued by the Chinese Foreign Ministry after the meeting between Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Chinese President Xi Jinping in the House of Representatives meeting on Wednesday. Why and how is the commission mentioned in the statement that has not been discussed? The Prime Minister's Secretariat and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should make it clear on this matter,' Badu said .

Badu said that the answer given by Chinese President Xi Jinping on the ongoing border dispute regarding Nepal's Limpiyadhura, Lipulek and Kalapani is not satisfactory for Nepal . Badu said that President Xi tried to pass off the Limpiyadhura, Lipulek and Kalapani border disputes as bilateral between India and Nepal. Not only India but also China automatically joins the western border of Nepal. The western border of Nepal's Darchula is not only connected with India but also with China. That is the trilateral point . According to the Sugauli Treaty, Limpiyadhura will be the trilateral border point. That's why China comes to join,' said Badu. Badu also said that since Limpiyadhura, the northwestern border of Nepal, is a trilateral point, all the three countries should work together to resolve the dispute. Badu is an elected MP from Darchula.

After the talks between Prime Minister Oli and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Tianjin on Saturday, a statement issued by China mentioned that Nepal supported the GSI, and protest has started in Nepal. There was no mention of GSI in the statement issued by Nepal after the meeting. The Nepali side has claimed that there was no discussion about GSI in the meeting between Oli and Si and the Chinese statement is false. However, the government has not officially denied the matter.

In the House of Representatives meeting on the same issue, United Samajwadi Party MP Prakash Jwala also said that since China has clearly claimed that Nepal has supported GSI, the government should respond to that issue. In the press release issued after the meeting between Oli and Si, China has clearly claimed that Nepal supports its security strategy in GSI. "What is the reality of this?," he said, "According to the Constitution of Nepal, Nepal is committed to a non-aligned foreign policy." Nepal cannot stand in favor of any military strategy . The government of Nepal has not released an official opinion on the Chinese claim. Let the government immediately publish its official opinion on this matter.'

Similarly, Maoist MP Lekhnath Dahal said that foreign affairs should not be decided alone and everyone should have a common opinion. "We can believe that no one should take an immature decision in foreign affairs, he has not taken it," he said. It is scandalous that India and China have agreed to use our land for commercial purposes without informing us. Until this decision is made, our relationship with the allies cannot be strengthened," he said. "If the neighbor is not ready to return our geography through diplomatic and political negotiations, we should go to the United Nations and the international court with evidence.
