Water flow is decreasing in Mahakali and Jogbuda, displaced people are in schools

Displaced residents of various wards of Dodhara Chandni municipality are still living in schools due to floods that occurred after continuous rains.

Police said that even though the flow of Mahakali and Jogbuda rivers has reduced after the rain subsided, the displaced people are not able to return to their homes due to panic. 

'The flow is decreasing, if it doesn't rain till evening, some displaced people will be able to return to their homes,' said DSP Sagar Bohra of District Police Office Kanchanpur, 'Now the flow of both Mahakali and Jogbuda rivers is decreasing, the inundation is also decreasing.'

Ward No. Paterakhalla of 3, ward no. Rampure island of 8 and Zarga toll and ward no. According to the police, 54 families have been displaced from areas including Shanti toll of 10. Also Ward no. BOP of armed police in 7 and 10 has also been displaced. 

"The inundation on the river bank has not yet subsided," said Kishore Kumar Limbu, the head of Dodhara Chandni Municipality, "as the flow of the river decreases, the inundation may also decrease by the evening."

According to the police, the flow of the Mahakali river is also decreasing. After reaching 238,000 cusecs on Monday evening, it has dropped to 174,000 cusecs as measured at 7 am on Tuesday.
