Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has objected to the agreement between India and China to conduct bilateral trade through Nepali land Lipulek.

During the bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday, Prime Minister Oli objected to the agreement reached between India and China.

Prime Minister Oli told the President of China that the agreement reached between India and China over Nepalese land is objectionable, Amrit Bahadur Rai, Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed. "Prime Minister Oli has clearly objected to President Xi regarding the agreement between China and India to make the Nepali land Lipulek a trade route," Prime Minister Oli said in a statement issued by the Secretariat, quoting Foreign Secretary Rai.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister had made it clear that according to the Sugauli Treaty of 1816, all the territories before Mahakali belong to the sovereign country of Nepal. "Nepal believes that China will help Nepal in this matter," Oli said.

The meeting between Oli and Chin Fing is said to be cordial. On the occasion of the bilateral meeting, it is said that there is an understanding that the mechanisms of both countries will be advanced to enhance relations and cooperation by discussing various fields of friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries .

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited India on August 2 and 3. During that time, with his Indian counterpart S. Jaishankar, there was a mention of doing bilateral trade through Lipulek, Nepali land, for making various agreements between the two countries, including trade. Disagreeing on this matter, Nepal has already sent a diplomatic note to both countries and clarified that Kalapani, Lipulek and Limpiyadhura are integral lands of Nepal .
