Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar has instructed the stakeholders to control the outbreak of cholera in Birganj by using all the mechanisms.
He gave this instruction while addressing stakeholders including the staff and security personnel of the hospital administration at Narayani Hospital here on Saturday night. He claimed that the government of all three levels will work together to control the cholera epidemic as soon as possible. He also said that the federal government is ready to mobilize Nepal and the armed police and then the army for this.
He said that it is not a situation to be confident that the rate of cholera infection is decreasing. He said that he has brought two teams with Nepal and Deputy Superintendents of Armed Police and doctors and will hand over both teams to Birgunj on Sunday.
The Home Minister had previously visited the diarrhea and cholera patients admitted to the hospital and inquired about their health conditions. During that time, he first talked to the patients and their relatives who were admitted to the emergency room and then to the ward. He was accompanied by two other ministers of the federal government, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ajay Chaurasia and Water Supply Minister Pradeep Yadav. Congress central member Krishna Prasad Sitaula was also there.
