The rate of cholera infection in Birgunj metropolitan area has remained stable in Parsa, where diarrhea and cholera outbreaks have spread. During the 17-hour period from 6 pm on Thursday to 11 am on Friday, the number of cholera positives did not increase here. On Thursday evening, the number of cholera positives was 143 and even after 16 hours, the number of cholera positives has not been added.
According to the latest statistics released by the Birgunj Metropolitan Municipality office, the number of cholera infected in Birgunj Metropolitan area alone has reached 143. 68 of them are undergoing treatment in various hospitals here. 75 of the total infected have been discharged. On the other hand, 9 cholera infected have been confirmed in Pokharia as well. In this way, the total number of cholera infected in Parsa district including Birgunj and Pokharia has reached 152.

49 people have been confirmed infected with cholera in Narayani Hospital and 46 in Terai Hospital. 20 cases of cholera have been confirmed in National Medical College, 9 cases in Pokhria Hospital, 7 cases in Virgunj Health Care. In Bhavani and Mangalam Pathology, 4/4 people have been confirmed infected. Cholera infection has been confirmed in 2 each at Prabhu, Ali Ortho and Advance Medicare Hospitals. Cholera infection has been confirmed in 9 out of 12 patients admitted to Pokhria Hospital in Pokhria municipality. 3 out of nine have been discharged and gone home. 6 are still undergoing treatment. According to District Health Office Parsa officer Jaimod Thakur, the infected people in Pokharia have also stayed in Birgunj metropolitan area and went to Pokhria for treatment, so the cholera infection has not yet reached the rural areas and the headquarters. According to him, there are people living in Pokhria, Bindwasini, Bahudarmai and other municipalities and rural villages and camping in Birganj.
