China has informed that it is speeding up the border management work. Director General of Foreign Affairs Office of Sichang Autonomous Region Pao Ting gave this information after reaching the Nepali Consulate General for China in Lhasa.

Last June 24th, due to severe flood in Lhende river, Rasuwa bridge was destroyed and there was human and material loss. In a meeting with Nepali Consul General Lakshmi Prasad Niraula on Wednesday, Director General Ting informed that the work of Rasuwa border management has been accelerated and the Chinese government is ready to manage the Rasuwagadhi and Tatopani border crossings, which are the main bases of Nepal-China trade and commerce, and to operate the Kimathanka border crossing. He also emphasized that joint efforts from both Nepal and China are necessary for border operation.

Director General Ting visited the Consulate General for the first time, according to the Consulate General. The Consulate General has also expressed its gratitude for contributing to the joint efforts made so far to strengthen Nepal-China relations.

Consul General Niraula mentioned that various programs are being organized while celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and China. He said, "The work being done by both countries on the basis of mutual harmony, respect for each other's sovereignty and non-interference in internal affairs has strengthened the relationship."

Consul General Niraula thanked the Chinese government for the support provided by China so far. After the Nepal-China friendship bridge was swept away due to the flood of Lhende river on June 24, he thanked the Nepali citizens for their prompt return to Nepal through a safe place and for the attention shown in the reconstruction of the damaged border.  He drew attention to speed up the construction of Miteri Bridge, to facilitate the sending of the goods stored in warehouses to Nepal even by making temporary communication.

On another occasion, Consul General Niraula expressed interest in the recent agreement between China and India regarding the operation of the Lipulek border crossing. According to the Consulate General, Lipulekh, Limpiyadhura and Kalapani are Nepali territories and both Nepal and China have been respecting each other's sovereignty.
