Ravi Lamichhane, chairman of RSVP, who is in custody for the Supreme Cooperative fraud case, is being heard today in the Butwal bench of the High Court Tulsipur on Monday. No. 4 is going to be heard in the single bench of Judge Sagar Bista of High Court Butwal.
Lamichhane filed a petition in the High Court after the District Court Rupandehi did not release him even though he filed the wrong amount of his share of embezzlement in the cooperative. Ram Bahadur Kunwar, Information Officer of the High Court Butwal, said that the application will be heard in a single bench of Judge Bista today. "Possibly, the verdict can come today," he said.
Earlier, Ravi filed a petition in the district court demanding to be released from the case of co-operative fraud by filing the wrongful filing of his part. District Court Judge Narayan Sapkota's bench heard his petition on July 26 and refused to release him.
A charge sheet has been filed against the defendants including Ravi in the Supreme Cooperative Fraud of Butwal by maintaining a collective fraud of Rs. But Ravi had submitted a document in which one part of his share was equal to four parts. Ravi had submitted a bank guarantee application of Rs 2 crore 74 lakh 84 thousand.
The district court had ordered that he could not be released because it was not clear how much he would suffer. But considering the nature of this issue, the district ordered to take action as soon as possible, saying that it is appropriate to have a quick resolution.
