The government committed an economic crime by changing the tax rates by bypassing the parliament: MP Pun

CPN (Maoist Center) Member of Parliament Barshman Pun has expressed serious objections accusing the government of changing the tax rate within a month after passing the economic bill by deceiving the parliament.

Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Friday, he mentioned that the customs duty of wood needed to make salai, 35 percent excise duty on dry and beverage juice and excise duty on bottles used in medicine packaging has been reduced and termed the government's decision as an economic crime.

He said, 'The news that the government has cheated the parliament and changed some tax rates has come in the media these days. Luxury duty levied on gold and metal jewelery has been kept at only 2 percent. Customs duty on thorn wood required for making salai has been reduced. Excise duty on dry and beverage juice has been reduced by 35 percent. Excise duty has also been reduced on bottles used in medicine packaging. The parliament is running, the economic bill has just been passed, but the government has changed taxes in this way in the first quarter. This is an economic crime against international principles by defrauding the parliament. The government should answer this.'

He also commented that the change in tax rates proved the incompetence of the finance minister.
