The Nepal Teachers' Federation has announced a protest program expressing dissatisfaction with the school education bill. The federation announced the protest saying that a bill should be brought to solve the problems in the education sector as per the previous agreement.
Laxmikishore Subedi, the president of the federation, informed that it has been announced that a joint movement will be held across the country from August 9.
According to him, in the first phase of the protest program, the local level, political parties, education minister and the prime minister will be informed of their demands, draw their attention, and if the demands are not met, there will be a prohibitive decisive protest from August 21.
The bill has been passed on Thursday after discussion in the Parliament's Education, Health and Information Technology Committee. It will now be submitted to the House of Representatives.
Before that, the private school administrators have started the protest from Thursday and the teachers' federation has also announced the protest program.
