The issue of China-India bilateral trade agreement through Limpiyadhura, Lipulek and Kalapani areas east of the Mahakali river has entered the parliament. In the meeting of the House of Representatives on Thursday, the parliamentarians of the ruling and opposition parties drew the attention of the government saying that India and China should not be allowed to trade through the region.

Speaking at the meeting, UML chief whip Mahesh Bertaula said that Lipulek is an active part of Nepal. He said that they will oppose the agreement between India and China to demarcate the border without the approval of Nepal on the integral parts of Nepal like Lipulekh, Limpiyadhura and Kalapani.

Last December, India and China reached an agreement to resume the movement of Indian pilgrims going on the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra through this crossing without the knowledge of Nepal.
