While trying to retrieve the body of one person who fell down from the hill, another person also lost his life. About 42-year-old Rinjin Lama of Chumanuvri-6 Chumchet Sipchet, who went missing since the evening of August 2, was found dead on Thursday morning about 150 meters below Goreto.
41-year-old Chhise Dorje of the team that went to look for him also died on the spot when he slipped and fell down the hill.
The police said that the bodies of both are still stuck in the ground and the work of extracting them is going on. According to DSP Indra Prasad Subedi, the two bodies are about 20-22 meters apart. A team led by Police Inspector Saroj Karki has been deployed from the District Police Office to complete the legal process including the body bond.
Rinjin Lama was lost on the road on August 2nd at around 7 pm while returning home after paying the electricity bill. Locals started searching for him from Monday night. On Thursday morning, his body was found while searching down from the gorge of Patchungchum in Chumchet.
Chhise Dorje was also a member of the same search team. After seeing the dead body of Rinjin, while going to inform his relatives, he also slipped and fell down about 150 meters and died, police said. The site of the incident is reached after a two-day journey from the Gorkha headquarter, while from the police station Chumchet, one has to walk for about three hours to the north.
