The new draft of the extradition treaty has already been signed by the secretaries of the two countries in 2061. India is insisting that it should be revised and made up-to-date and move forward.

Misri met President Ramchandra Paudel, Prime Minister Oli, Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba during his stay in Kathmandu. Apart from that, Congress Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba met Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Sunday. Before returning to Delhi on Monday, he met Chief of Army Staff Ashokraj Sigdel and handed over defense material and equipment including light strike vehicles, critical care medical equipment and military animals. Similarly, leaders of the Madhesh-centric party Mahant Thakur, Upendra Yadav, Rajendra Mahato, Hridayesh Tripathi and Vrishesh Chandra Lal have held a group meeting at Hotel Dwarika.
