The family of the victims of the Sourya Air plane crash on Monday presented to the Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar and demanded a judicial inquiry.

Prakash Khatiwada of Saptari, who lost his daughter, son-in-law and grandson in the accident, has submitted a demand letter to the Home Minister, claiming that the report submitted by the government commission led by Ratish Chandra Lal is insufficient and the reality of the incident has not been exposed.

Khatiwada has expressed his suspicion that the report was prepared with the intention of exonerating the main culprits as there were factual errors in the government report.

He has told the Home Minister that the formation of a judicial inquiry commission is inevitable as the culprits have not been identified even though human negligence and serious errors of Solar Airlines have been observed in the accident.

In the demand letter submitted by him, questions have been raised saying that the illegal flight carried out with passengers in the name of 'return flight', the rationale of taking the ship to Pokhara and the violation of the law and manual by the airline company have not been clarified . In addition, the report also alleged that there was no provision for justice and compensation for the victims. The Home Minister has assured that justice will be given to the victim's family and initiatives will be taken to re-investigate the incident.

18 people died in an accident at Tribhuvan International Airport on July 9, 2081. After the incident, the government formed a five-member commission of inquiry under the leadership of the former director general of the then Civil Aviation Authority, Ratish Chandra Lal.

Likewise, the family members of 10 out of 18 deceased in this incident have not understood the compensation from the insurance.

Some of them have filed a complaint with the insurance committee. The family said that the committee's investigation did not make a decision.
