Along with Tikaram Tamang, Malti Moktan, a journalist from Dhankuta, was given the Tamang Media Award with a cash prize of 10,100 rupees and a certificate.

Tamang Media Award to two people including Kantipur personnel

Kantipur worker Tikaram Tamang has received Tamang Media Award 2082. Tamang Journalists Association honored journalist Tamang on Sunday on the occasion of 31st Tamang Broadcasting Day.

Tamang is working as a deputy editor at Ikantipur.com.

Similarly, Dhankuta's journalist Malti Moktan 'Manvi' has also been given the Tamang Media Award. Communications and Information Technology Minister Prithvisubba Gurung and Bagmati Province's Water, Energy and Irrigation Minister Krishna Kumar Tamang have presented certificates of appreciation with 10,100 cash each to both journalists. program. Similarly, former president of the association Pratik Ngesur Tamang, various people who provided support for the program were handed over certificates of appreciation through Minister of Communications Gurung.  Addressing the

program, Communications Minister Gurung asserted that inclusive policy is more effective in government media than in other sectors. According to him, efforts have been made to strengthen federalism by broadcasting news in the mother tongue by the National News Service Committee (RASS), public broadcasting organization Radio Nepal and Nepal Television, Gorkhapatra.

Stating that 45 in Gorkhapatra, 26 in Radio Nepal and Rasas are transmitting news in three mother tongues, Minister Gurung said that the promotion of linguistic inclusion in the media has been promoted with priority. He informed that Rasas is preparing to operate news service in Tamang language in the current financial year. 

Bagmati Province Minister Tamang said that the provincial government is ready to cooperate for the development of the communication sector.

Lucky Chaudhary, president of Tribal Journalist Federation (FONIZ), said that the state should invest in preserving mother tongue journalism. Saying that it is a challenge to do journalism in the mother tongue, he emphasized that the mother tongue journalists should be made capable. He mentioned that journalism in the mother tongue has the double benefit of preserving the language and establishing identity in the world.   

Netra Tamang, president of the Tamang Journalists' Association, said that the award was arranged to help the professional development of journalists in his community.    In the

program, the senior vice president of the association Tirthaman Bal drew the attention of the Minister of Communications Gurung for the arrangement of adding a program in Tamang language to Radio Nepal. Mohan Gole, President of Nepal Tamang Ghedung, representatives of Press Union, Press Chautari and Press Center also spoke in the

program.    

Radio is celebrating the day when news in Tamang language was broadcast for the first time in Nepal as Tamang Broadcasting Day by Tamang journalists. On August 1, 2051, the Tamang language entered the broadcasting sector for the first time.
