The Ministry of Home Affairs has achieved 88 percent of the milestone with excellent performance in areas ranging from legal reform to crime control.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has been the first in the progress of the annual activities and milestones determined by the government for the last financial year.

The ministry led by Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar has been seen as the best milestone in the past five years. According to the annual progress report of policies and major works published by the Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, the Ministry of Home Affairs has been the first to complete 88 percent of the milestones set for the previous year according to the financial year 2081/82.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has stated that 93 out of 106 milestones towards government reforms have been completed and 13 are continuing in the current fiscal year. According to the progress report of the milestone, the Ministry of Home Affairs is the highest at 88 percent and the second is the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration at 85 percent.

Looking at the ministerial status of milestones completed in the last financial year, the Ministry of Land Management Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation has made 78 percent progress. In the field of governance reforms, the Ministry of Home Affairs achieved milestone progress of 86.8 percent in fiscal year 2077078, 64.5 percent in fiscal year 2078079, 69.1 percent in fiscal year 2079080 and 68 percent in the previous financial year 2080081.

The government divided the institutional progress of the milestone into four parts, namely, government structure, infrastructure sector, economic and social sector . The government has decided an action plan with milestones for policy and program and budget implementation.

It is mentioned that in the first year, the Home Minister authored policy and legal reform of the Ministry, suppression of anti-order activities, crime investigation and execution of judgments, formation of desks and divisions for service delivery in the police and campaign against narcotics. Likewise, the ministry has done work related to disaster management, post-earthquake reconstruction, revenue leakage and cross-border crime control, service delivery and identity card management, immigration reform initiative and free heli rescue.
