The Prison Management Department has approved the transfer of RSVP Chairman and former Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane, who is currently in Rupandehi District Jail, to Nakhkhu Jail in Lalitpur.

After the approval of the department, District Jail Rupandehi decided to transfer Lamichhane to Nakhkhu on Friday. With this decision, the process to bring Lamichhane to Kathmandu has been moved forward, said Leela Prasad Sharma, director general of the department.

Butwal's Supreme Savings and Loan Cooperative fraud case, Lamichhane is in jail pending trial after the court's order. Earlier, Lamichhane had applied to the prison administration for transfer to Dillibazar prison in Kathmandu. He said that even a month and a half ago, the Ministry of Home Affairs did not proceed with the process.
