Congress MP Sita Mizar has drawn the government's serious attention to implement the fundamental rights of Dalits guaranteed by the constitution. Speaking in the House of Representatives on Thursday, she expressed the opinion that 'due to the harsh discrimination and state-protected deprivation in history, many citizens of the Dalit and oppressed classes are still unable to enjoy the minimum fundamental rights'.
He says that most Dalits are living in extreme poverty and deprivation, and the form of discrimination is changing, but it is still there. "If there is a landslide somewhere, there is a flood, there is a flood, there is a fire in a remote village, if there is an epidemic, Dalits are the first victims. After all, how long will we have to suffer this situation?,' she asked.
Mizar stressed that Article 16 (right to live with dignity), Article 24 (right against untouchability), Article 40 (right of Dalits) and Article 42 (right to social justice) of the constitution should be implemented through specific laws. Also, she urged the government to give special priority to the Dalit community in the implementation of Article 51 of the Constitution.
