The victims of the conflict have registered a writ in the Supreme Court against the appointment process of the officials of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the Investigation Commission of Disappeared Persons. The victims filed a writ on Wednesday saying that there was party division in the last appointments made by the government and ineligible persons were selected.
Earlier, the Supreme Administration had rejected the said writ. Hearing the petition filed by the victims against it, the bench of Judge Teel Prasad Shrestha canceled the bench order against the writ on Tuesday. The writ petitioner Geeta Rasaili said that a new writ was registered after the bench was dismissed.
334 conflict victims have demanded that the recent appointments made by the government in both commissions should be canceled as they are against the provisions of the constitution and the law.
Without consulting them, the victims have filed a petition asking that the appointment should be annulled, saying that the parties allocated quotas to their own people and appointed them as commissioners in both commissions.
will now be heard in a single bench of the Supreme Court . If the court issues an interim order, the appointed officials will stop working.
