Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli informed the House of Representatives about his recent visit to Turkmenistan. Addressing the meeting of the assembly on Wednesday, he informed about the visit.
Prime Minister Oli returned to Swedash on July 23 after participating in the third United Nations Conference of Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC). He addressed the conference as the chairman of the Bureau of Global Coordination of Less Developed Countries. On the occasion of the
conference, he informed that meetings were held with the heads of delegations of various countries and with high-ranking officials of the United Nations and other international organizations.
Prime Minister Oli said that due to the lack of direct regional access to the sea, the landlocked developing countries faced the challenges of international trade, connectivity and economic development and called for mutual cooperation.
He also informed that due to the lack of direct access, he was not able to benefit significantly from the global market, there is no easy global transportation network and it is difficult to develop food infrastructure, and he also raised the issue of achieving sustainable development in the conference.
