Kulman Ghising, former executive director of Nepal Electricity Authority, who is on a visit to Britain, has requested the government through British MP Alex Baker to solve the problems including equal pension of ex-Gorkha soldiers.
In Wednesday's meeting with ruling Labor Party MP and chairman of 'All Party Parliamentary Group on Nepal' (APPG) Baker, Ghising led by British engineers 114 years ago, the first Remembering the completion of the electricity project, he thanked the UK for its continued support in the development of Nepal including hydropower. He said that he had started the 'Ujyalo Nepal' campaign to instill good governance, prosperity and hope and said that he was visiting Gulf countries, America and the UK.
On that occasion, Parliamentarian Baker welcomed Ghising to Britain and praised his contribution to making Nepal bright. He stated that ex-Gurkha soldiers are the foundation of UK-Nepal relations. After a two-week long visit to America, Ghising arrived in London on Monday. At Heathrow Airport he was met by Tamu Dhin UK, NRNA UK Representatives of various organizations and others welcomed.
Both groups of NRNA UK are going to interact with Ghising if He will participate as a special guest in the 16th Nepali Mela to be organized by Tamu Dheen UK on 24 August.
