One-way traffic has started in Downe under Mahendra Highway, which has been blocked for the last 38 hours due to rain.

According to the police station commander, after the rain stopped, the road was opened for one-way traffic from a while ago. At 5 places in Downe, the road is one-way operation, traffic has been opened alternately with the presence of police.

In order not to have a long jam in Daunne, long vehicles stopped at 30 East Kawasoti from Dumkiwas have been sent to their destination. The highway was blocked near the Vishwakarma temple, 3 km west of Dumkiwas market due to landslides. Traffic was opened after making the highway smooth by placing gravel in the flooded areas.

Three months ago, there was a problem with the vehicle getting stuck there due to the soil of the hole dug to build the bridge. As there is a steep hill, the vehicle is pushed by a dozer to cross it. Due to water flowing on the highway near Vishwakarma temple, it is difficult to drive.

Because the Chinese contractor company China State Engineering Corporation, which has taken the contract for the construction of the highway, has not worked on the road, the highway is blocked even in normal rains.

Between Dumkiwas and Bardghat, there is a hill on the 14 km road. East-west vehicles are stuck in a traffic jam. In order to avoid a long traffic jam at Downe, the vehicles stopped at Kawasoti and Bardghat have been sent to their destination, so there is a long traffic jam at Downe. The police said that the vehicle can be crossed in 3-4 hours.
