Acting Prime Minister Prakashman Singh said that the water level in the Rapti and Babai rivers has crossed the danger level and has given instructions to deploy security personnel in risky places.
As there is a possibility of heavy rains in Far West and Karnali Provinces of Nepal today and the water level in Bheri and Babai Rivers has reached above the danger level, security personnel have been instructed to mobilize to prevent loss of life and property.
Quoting Acting Prime Minister Singh, the Executive Chief of National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, Engineer Dinesh Prasad Bhatt said that he has received information about the situation in Babai and Bheri when the water level has crossed the danger level.
He said that he has instructed the security personnel to be deployed in risky places by taking timely vigilance to prevent loss of property. Also, on Tuesday (today) in Mahakali and Karnali, the water level is expected to rise, so they have asked to be alert there as well.
He said, 'An emergency meeting has been called due to the rising water level in the Rapti and Babai rivers. Apart from that, we have discussed what is happening in the country and how much rain has fallen. For today, Rapti, Babai, Karnali and Mahakali areas will receive a little more rain and the water level has risen, so he instructed the CDIs of all the concerned districts to mobilize security personnel. It is also said that the chief district officers of the respective districts have informed the Acting Prime Minister Singh about the situation there.
