The Federation of Nepalese Journalists has condemned the mistreatment of Udaipur correspondent Rakesh Nepali from Kantipur during news gathering.

On Saturday, Nepalis were misbehaved during the city convention of National Independent Party held at Hotel Empire Inn in Triyuga Municipality-3 Motigada.

The federation has condemned the incident by saying that Sarin Tamang, the leader of Raswapka, obstructed Nepali people from taking photos/videos at the official event and took anti-press freedom actions like taking away the camera. In a statement signed by the General Secretary of the Federation, Ram Prasad Dahal, the relevant parties are requested to take action against the RSVP leader who obstructs the journalists engaged in gathering news and takes away the cameras and to guarantee the professional safety of the journalists.

It has been mentioned that the Federation has taken this action of the RSVP by inviting the journalists engaged in the religion of informing the citizens to the program as a very objectionable and anti-press action.

Federation central committee along with state committee, Udaipur branch, National Dalit Journalist Association central committee, state committee and various associations of journalists have expressed their objections regarding the mistreatment of Nepali journalists. All parties concerned have been requested not to discourage journalists by obstructing them in the process of gathering news and to create an environment in which the freedom of press and expression provided by the constitution can be enjoyed easily.
