Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Minister Balram Adhikari has clarified that the proposed land bill is not related to the Giribandhu land issue.
In the discussion of the Land Bill held on Sunday at the Singh Durbar of the Agriculture, Cooperative and Natural Resources Committee, he said that it is not necessary to unnecessarily link giribandhu with the Land Bill. Where is giribandhu attached to the bill? He also asked the MPs to show it.
He made it clear that agriculture or industrial matters were not included in the bill.
Minister Adhikari said, 'Let's discuss the revised topics proposed in the Land Bill. Stakeholders are keeping their issues. As I have said time and time again, the way we have progressed the week. We have brought the issues of housing in the bill. There is no other subject including Giribandhu attached to it. Where is giribandhu attached to the bill? I keep asking you to show me. No agricultural matter is connected here, no giribandhu is connected. The matter of industrialists is not connected here.'
He added Giribandhu and made it clear that the parliamentarians do not need to publicize the land bill. The minister said that the government will pay due attention while providing land to the landless, slum dwellers and unorganized citizens.
