CPN (Maoist Center) MP Jag Prasad Sharma has commented that corruption and government have become synonymous.
Speaking at the meeting of the National Assembly on Wednesday, MP Sharma accused the government itself of being the main culprit in the rise of corruption in the country. He warned that if the government does not take strict measures to control corruption, the country may be blacklisted.
MP Sharma said, 'Now the main problem of the nation is corruption. The main culprit of corruption is the government. Government and corruption have now become synonymous. The government should be able to find the problem within itself and not elsewhere. If it cannot be stopped, the country and the people are going in the direction of destruction and the future of the next generation is becoming more and more bleak. If it is not stopped in time, the country may go directly to the black list instead of the gray list. My attention is drawn to the government to take special measures to prevent corruption and to proceed with the process of property investigation.'
He urged the government to take strict measures to control corruption and start the process of investigating the assets of the leaders immediately.
