Health and Population Minister Pradeep Paudel has said that the ministry will do its best to provide the necessary manpower and equipment for the further improvement of Veer Hospital.

In a ceremony organized on the occasion of the 136th anniversary of Veer Hospital, he said that although there has been improvement in the health sector in recent days, the common people have not yet felt it. 

'Political reforms alone will not make the citizens feel that the health sector has improved,' he said. Stating that this hospital shows the state's presence in the health sector, Minister Paudel said, "Since health is a sensitive sector, the state cannot shirk its responsibility." We have said that basic health services will be provided free of charge and specialized services will be provided cheaply, accessible and free to those who cannot afford it.

"Skilled technical manpower is insufficient from time to time," he said, "I request the minister to manage the technical manpower even if it is by creating bridge vacancies." It is the oldest hospital in Nepal established on 12th July 1947 at the initiative of Shri 3 Veer Shamsher. Veer Hospital is considered as the central hospital of the government. In order to produce skilled manpower at the national level for the all-round development of the hospital, the Government of Nepal issued the National Institute of Medical Sciences Act in 2063 and developed Veer as an institute.

hospital has been providing accessible and free treatment for patients such as the very poor, orphans, women victims of violence, the helpless, the disabled, senior citizens, minorities, people injured in the people's movement.

Veer Hospital, which started with 15 beds and is serving 460 beds, is now operational with 960 beds after the addition of services from the new surgical building.
