What you should know
Chairman of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has demanded that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli should be brought under investigation in the case of 'cooling off period'.
Addressing a program held in Kathmandu on Saturday, he claimed that although there was a suspicion that the tampering with the 'cooling off period' in the Federal Civil Code had already been done with the connivance of the Prime Minister, there was no sufficient basis at that time, but now the basis of the Prime Minister's involvement has been confirmed by the activities of the MPs of CPN (UML) in the National Assembly.
He said that Prime Minister Oli should take all responsibility for this case. He claimed that because of the leadership of CPN (UML) there was tampering in the 'cooling off period'.
President Dahal said, 'You have seen, now fraud, fraud, corruption, dishonesty have become the definition of the government. The current government is the same. A 'cooling off period' of two years was passed unanimously in the Federal Civil Code. The party leading the government made an amendment in the National Assembly and said that it will not happen anymore. In the end, the UML 'meowed'. Its intention is conspiratorial.'
He said that the Parliamentary Inquiry Committee has also been requested to bring the Prime Minister into the scope . He said, 'The needle of suspicion was already pointed towards the Prime Minister. But at that time there was no solid foundation. Now, it has been confirmed that this conspiracy is due to the intentions of the CPN (UML) and its leadership through the amendments and activities of the UML MPs. It is our demand that the Prime Minister himself should also come under the scope of investigation. Our honorable members have raised this issue in the House as well.'
President Dahal also accused the current government of being synonymous with fraud, fraud, dishonesty and corruption.
