Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba has mentioned that there are many cultural similarities between Nepal and Thailand. While inaugurating the 'Thai Flavors 'in the Himalayas' trade fair held in the capital today, she said that there has been a historical relationship between Nepal and Thailand and there are similarities between the two countries in many fields including culture.
Minister Rana discussed the similarities between the two countries including hospitality, respect for multi-religious and multicultural values, tolerance and tourism and the prosperity that can be achieved through it.
Making it clear that tourism can be an area of common prosperity and cooperation between the two countries, Minister Rana urged Thai investors to invest in the fields of tourism and hospitality as there is immense potential for tourism in Nepal. He urged Thai industrialists to invest in Nepal saying that Nepal is advancing in the field of entrepreneurship and the production of many items including handicrafts has become an attraction in the world market.
Referring to the fact that Nepal and Thailand are free and independent countries that have never been under any colonial rule, Minister Rana recalled that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli recently visited Thailand and there was agreement and understanding in the government and private sectors.
