Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the drought crisis of Madhesh province will be solved by two measures, long-term and immediate. Prime Minister Oli has been visiting Mahottari and Bara since the morning after the cabinet meeting declared Madhesh as a disaster prone area. He also conducted aerial monitoring and inspection of the area.
"Just declaring Madhesh as a crisis area will do nothing," said Prime Minister Oli, "If there is a long-term plan to solve the water and irrigation problem in Madhesh, then by building reservoirs and ponds, water will be recharged and the land will be recharged to create a favorable environment and 500 deep borings will be installed for the time being."
Prime Minister Oli has requested all government agencies and non-governmental organizations to cooperate with the work of the government. "When I came on Friday to inaugurate the bridge and maternity home in Matihani of Mahottari, I saw from nearby the vacant land that has not been planted in Sarlahi and Mahottari," Prime Minister Oli said. The fields are dry. The water in the ponds has dried up.'
Oli said that Saptari, which is close to Koshi, has less effect of drought and 7 districts of Madhesh province have become problematic.
