Two teenage girls who were said to be missing from India have been found dead in Bhaktapur. They were found dead in the house where they were staying. They were camping in a tent on the ground floor next to the two-storey house of local Niraj Chakradhar in Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-9 Sintitar.
Sisters 17-year-old Menuka Kandel and 15-year-old Srijan Kandel of Surkhet Panchapuri Municipality-8 were found dead hanging by a single rope in the passage of the same house. Sarjan came to Nepal with his parents for his uncle's wedding. According to Khagendra Sigdel, who is related to her, Menuka gave SEE from Surkhet last year. Srijana was living in Mumbai, India with her parents since childhood. Menuka also went to Mumbai with her family after her uncle's marriage.

Khagendra said that Menuka got 'non-grade' results in two subjects in SEE. The parents were found dead in Bhaktapur while they were searching for their daughter in India.
